About this role
Species360 is looking for a Marketing Coordinator to help share their story, engage their community, and highlight the impact of their members' work.
This part-time role will focus on creating compelling content across various platforms to increase awareness, support member engagement, and contribute to the mission of advancing animal welfare and conservation through information sharing.
Responsibilities
- Research, write, and edit engaging blog posts on animal conservation, wildlife management, Species360 initiatives, ZIMS, and related topics
- Develop compelling written and multimedia case studies and success stories showcasing member institution achievements
- Conduct interviews, gather data, and craft narratives that resonate with the audience
- Create engaging content for Species360 social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)
- Write posts, source or create visuals, schedule content, and engage with followers
- Assist with website updates and content management, including creating and editing web pages and blog posts
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team and other departments to ensure content alignment
- Track and analyze content performance to identify areas for improvement and optimize future strategies
- Stay informed of industry trends in marketing, conservation, and the zoo and aquarium community
Requirements
- Proven experience (2+ years) in a marketing or communications role with strong emphasis on content creation
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and platforms
- Experience managing social media platforms for organizations with focus on engagement and growth
- Familiarity with website content management systems (WordPress experience is a plus)
- Passion for wildlife conservation, animal welfare, and Species360's mission
- Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively with a remote team
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Environmental Science, Zoology, or related field (preferred)
