About this role

Redwoods is looking for a Senior Writer. Redwoods was founded in 2024 to help philanthropic professionals accelerate funding to high-impact, credible climate solutions. The Senior Intelligence Writer will be the dedicated writer behind the content that advisors and their donors rely on, producing high-quality climate content across key formats (snapshots, one-pagers, memos, slide decks) while supporting marketing efforts to expand the advisor network. This is a core seat on a lean, fast-moving team with the opportunity to shape how the climate intelligence function operates.

Responsibilities

  • Write compelling climate content that drives action and translates technical material into decision-ready recommendations for philanthropic advisors,
  • Produce high-quality, high-volume climate content across Redwoods' key formats (snapshots, one-pagers, memos, slide decks and more),
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, synthesis, and integrity in all materials,
  • Track progress, flag dependencies, and ensure materials are current and donor-ready,
  • Own specific content products end-to-end while collaborating across functions on the team,Implement audience segmentation to better serve advisors across key archetypes,
  • Partner with team leads to design, test, and improve marketing strategies that attract new advisors and increase engagement,
  • Carry new brand into voice, visuals, and templates,
  • Contribute to special projects including webinar briefings, platform design, and cross-functional initiatives,
  • Serve as day-to-day coordination point for nonprofit partners,
  • Use AI-enabled approaches to increase throughput without compromising rigour,
  • Help build a scalable content engine through templates, workflows, and process improvements,
  • Represent Redwoods with credibility and care in all external interactions

Requirements

  • Exceptional writer able to distill complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives,4-7 years of experience in climate, philanthropy, consulting, research, or a closely related field,
  • Strong understanding of climate solutions and the philanthropic landscape,
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality work under tight timelines, managing multiple workflows in parallel,
  • U.S. based,
  • Willing to work West Coast hours,
  • Organized and detail-oriented with high personal standards,
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and curiosity about tech/AI,
  • Experience producing donor- or advisor-facing materials (nice to have),
  • Marketing, branding, or communications experience (nice to have),
  • Comfort coordinating with external partners at scale (nice to have),
  • High EQ and relationship awareness (nice to have),
  • Genuine interest in AI and innovative tools as a lever for scaling knowledge work (nice to have)
