Forestry England is looking for a Communications Manager. This role leads communications and public engagement for a high-profile national programme to create and install Covid-19 commemorative features in the nation's forests. You will manage all aspects of communications for creating and installing these features, including media relations and stakeholder and community engagement, working closely with the programme director and a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Lead communications and public engagement for a national Covid-19 commemorative features programme,
- Manage all aspects of communications for creating and installing features in forests,
- Handle media relations and stakeholder engagement,
- Lead community engagement with people affected by loss and trauma,
- Create compelling content and manage communications across multiple audiences,
- Work closely with the programme director, multidisciplinary team, and communications colleagues across Forestry England's national team and six districts,
- Ensure inclusive and accessible communications,
- Travel across England to support programme delivery
Requirements
- Strong communications management skills,
- Excellent content creation abilities,
- Experience planning, delivering and evaluating community and stakeholder engagement on sensitive issues,
- Ability to lead compassionate engagement with people affected by loss and trauma,
- Commitment to inclusive and accessible communications,
- Ability to communicate in accurate spoken English,
- Willingness to travel across England with occasional overnight stays,
- Ability to work in blended working arrangement with one day per fortnight in Bristol head office
