Communications & Outreach Officer (Part-Time)

Enalia Physis Environmental Research Centre is looking for a Communications & Outreach Officer.

This role combines strategic communication, content creation, public engagement and event coordination to strengthen the organisation's visibility and relationships with communities, partners, donors and the wider public. Working closely with the Director and project teams, the successful candidate will help translate scientific research and conservation work into engaging stories that inspire action and strengthen public awareness.

• Develop and implement the organisation's communication strategy
• Manage the organisation's social media channels
• Create engaging content including graphics, short videos and campaigns
• Write website articles, news updates and project stories
• Coordinate the production of newsletters
• Monitor communications performance and recommend improvements
• Prepare press releases and media material
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media partners
• Coordinate interviews and media opportunities
• Ensure consistent organisational messaging across communication channels
• Organise environmental awareness events, workshops and public activities
• Support educational campaigns and outreach initiatives
• Coordinate communication with participants, partners and stakeholders
• Assist with photography, storytelling and event coverage
• Develop communication plans for EU-funded and national projects
• Prepare dissemination material required by project deliverables
• Support proposal writing by contributing communication sections
• Ensure donor visibility requirements are met

• Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Environmental Communication or a related field
• 2–3 years of relevant professional experience
• Excellent written and spoken English and Greek
• Strong copywriting and storytelling skills
• Experience managing social media professionally
• Familiarity with Canva or similar design software

• Experience within an NGO or environmental organisation
• Experience with EU-funded communication activities
• Basic photography and video editing skills
• Experience organising events or public engagement activities
• Knowledge of email marketing platforms
• Basic website editing experience (WordPress preferred)
