About this role

Animal Advocacy Careers is looking for a Content & Communications Specialist. You'll create compelling content and lead communications across social, LinkedIn, and website channels, turning AAC's research and narrative into stories that connect talented professionals with high-impact animal advocacy roles.

This strategy and communications role focuses on reaching senior professionals and moving them to act, whether applying to programmes, signing up for advising, or reconsidering their career impact.

Responsibilities

  • Turn AAC's narrative strategy into a content plan across channels: social, LinkedIn, website, and newsletters
  • Lead AAC's social and LinkedIn presence, planning and publishing content that builds credibility with senior professionals
  • Write and optimise website content that guides users from discovery through programme applications
  • Transform complex research, alumni stories, and team expertise into compelling narratives and thought leadership
  • Manage content for multiple AAC initiatives while maintaining narrative coherence
  • Create templates, guidelines and systems that enable team members to contribute content efficiently
  • Own social influencer and creator partnerships: find partners, build relationships, and run collaborations
  • Plan and run communications campaigns to promote programmes and recruitment pushes
  • Write and optimise AAC's newsletters (one monthly, one quarterly)
  • Develop storylines and scripts for video in collaboration with video editor
  • Read and interpret performance data from GA4 and social platforms to inform strategy
  • Apply SEO best practices to improve discoverability and search rankings
  • Turn AAC alumni and programme participants into content ambassadors

Requirements

  • Track record of content strategy across channels: deciding what to say, to whom, where, and why
  • Excellent writing skills that make complex topics clear and compelling
  • Experience building a brand's presence on LinkedIn or social media with understanding of professional audiences
  • Ability to interpret performance data (GA4 and social platform analytics) and translate insights into strategic improvements
  • Ability to turn dense research or career stories into compelling content for busy professionals
  • Basic design skills using Canva templates
  • Desirable: Creative strategy for social ads, influencer/creator/content partnership experience, SEO content skills, experience with different tone of voice across projects, email marketing, video scripting
  • Personal attributes: Systems thinking, treats feedback as data, willing to test and iterate, mission-driven, autonomous work style with good communication
