Heather Distad

I am an enthusiastic and skilled team and organizational leader with over 16 years of experience in the nonprofit, conservation, and recreation fields! I have extensive experience in nonprofit fundraising strategy, team and volunteer leadership, donor and partner relations, event planning, community engagement, program administration, and communications. I thrive in environments where my skills are required to pull multiple strategies into one, ensuring a cohesive and progressive philanthropic experience for donors, partners, and staff alike. Where I shine—organizing, inspiring, and leading others on a team or along a philanthropic path. I have always had a deep desire to bring people together, harness their collective energy, and lead them on a meaningful journey. I founded High Point Nonprofit Consulting in 2020 to help organizations advance their capacity, messaging, and team leadership by developing and implementing effective strategies and tactics. I have successfully led and assisted multiple clients, including the United States Ski Mountaineering Association, Cerebral Therapeutics, Project Ropa, PCOS Challenge, Justice Necessary, and SheJumps in achieving their goals and increasing their impact. I also serve as a board member for Big City Mountaineers and San Juan Mountains Association, two organizations that share my values of promoting justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the outdoors, providing transformative outdoor experiences, and leaving places better than we found them.
