Fanny Beckman is a London-based portrait photographer who uses art to raise awareness of social injustice. She was four years old when she got her first camera and ever since, photography has been an important part of her life. She studied Fine Art Photography at Gamleby School of Photography in her home country Sweden. It was during this time she realised how she could combine art and activism.
Since 2022, she works full-time with her own business and focuses on helping charities with their marketing campaigns to spread awareness of their work. Some of her clients are the King's Trust, Smile Train UK, Women in Prison and Black Women Rising.
Public Speaking and Lecturing
Via public speaking, Fanny Beckman raises awareness of the male gaze and the importance of scrutinising photography to improve the media climate. She also helps brands diversify their marketing, for example, Triumph and LVMH, and holds regular workshops for Mulberry School for Girls about Art and Activism. Â
Art is a powerful tool to highlight injustice and Fanny is always keen to connect with like-minded people to create social change!
