Our community has been asking us for a directory, and we’ve heard from many organisations and purpose-driven businesses, that they desperately need a simple way to find and hire trusted freelancers directly.Â
We’re pleased to say, our new freelance directory is here, designed to seamlessly connect freelancers with the orgs that need them.
Freelancers can create a detailed, publicly visible profile in the FFG directory, showcasing their skills, work history and the cause areas they are passionate about.

If you would like to join the directory as a freelancer, you will need to complete our short application process.
This is important for a number of reasons. We want to maintain high standards within the directory and ensure that every freelancer listed is capable of delivering excellent work to the standards that impactful organisations would expect.
We also aim to ensure that all directory members share the values of Freelancing For Good, particularly a commitment to ethical practices and social impact.
We also want to ensure that the directory remains highly useful and is not overcrowded or unbalanced. We aim to make it as easy as possible for organisations to find the right freelancers, and for freelancers to find the most suitable opportunities. Too much noise can dilute its effectiveness, and we want to avoid that.

Who is the FFG Directory for?
The FFG Directory is designed for freelancers and creatives who want to make a positive impact by working with charities, non-profits, social enterprises, and other impact-driven brands and businesses.Â
If you’re specifically looking to connect with organisations and clients dedicated to social and environmental change, aligned with your values, this directory is a perfect fit.Â
For freelancers focused on traditional corporate or commercial work, however, this directory may not align with your goals as it primarily supports impact-oriented projects and clients.
How much does it cost?
We have the following plans available:
- Monthly plan: £15 (billed every month)
- Yearly plan: £120 (billed every year)
- Lifetime plan: £400 (billed once)
If you’re unable to afford a membership, you may wish to apply for our Supported Memberships Program, which offers a limited number of free memberships each quarter.
Can I switch between plans?
Yes, you can switch between the monthly and yearly plans anytime. When you choose to upgrade or downgrade, the change will take effect at the end of your current billing period. For example, if you’re on a monthly plan and upgrade to yearly, your new yearly plan will start once your current month finishes, and the same applies when switching from yearly to monthly.
Why are you charging the membership for the FFG Directory?
As an independent platform, we are not separately funded, and running the directory comes with significant operational costs.
While we aim to make our resources, community, and job board accessible to everyone, for the directory to be sustainable in the long term and genuinely valuable to both freelancers listed and organisations using it to hire, we need to cover the operational expenses.
The membership fee helps us ensure the directory remains a high-quality and sustainable resource for all involved.
If you are genuinely unable to afford a membership, you may wish to apply for our Supported Memberships Program, which offers a limited number of free memberships each quarter.
Until when is the registration open?
To keep the Freelancing For Good Directory valuable for everyone involved, we’re accepting new members in limited cohorts. The registration window for this cohort is open until the 16th of March, 2025.
This approach allows us:
- Maintain Alignment with Values: We want to ensure that each freelancer shares our commitment to ethical practices and positive social impact.
- Maintain Quality: Accepting members in smaller groups gives us time to review profiles and maintain the high standards that organisations rely on.
- Prevent Oversaturation: With balanced numbers, the directory stays manageable, making it easier for organisations to find the right freelancers and for freelancers to access quality opportunities.
Why is there an application process?
We carefully vet all applications to ensure the directory is the best fit for both freelancers as well as organisations and companies using the directory to hire.
Since the directory is a paid membership, we also want to make sure you’re investing in something that truly benefits you. If your application isn’t accepted, it simply means that, at this time, it may not be the best fit.
It is not in any way a reflection of your skills and expertise.Â
Do I need to have a website to create a profile?
No, you don’t need a website to create a profile. We’ve designed the profiles to serve freelancers, whether or not they have a website. You can upload work samples, testimonials, or any other content that showcases your skills and expertise. Since your profile is public, it can even serve as a substitute for a website!
However, we do ask that all profiles include some proof of skills. If you don’t have a website, we will ask you to upload work samples so that organisations can confidently assess your experience and the quality of your work.
We want to ensure the directory is a valuable resource for both freelancers and organisations, and we deserve rights to remove profiles without any proof of skills.
Do you offer a free trial?
We don’t currently offer a free trial, as our commitment is to building a community of dedicated, impact-driven freelancers and organisations. Offering a free trial could compromise the quality of connections and the level of engagement within the directory.Â
However, we understand the importance of trying a service risk-free, so we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on the monthly plan and 6-month money-back guarantee on the yearly and lifetime plans.
