Job Description

Morningstar Indexes and Sustainalytics, two of Morningstar’s fastest-growing divisions, are seeking a skilled Communications Manager to join our dynamic team. This role will play a crucial part in shaping and executing our external communications strategy while also providing valuable support for internal employee engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities

As a Communications Manager at Sustainalytics, you will be responsible for the following:

External Communications (75%)

  • Lead and manage external public relations agency relationships.
  • Identify, train, and support company spokespeople and subject matter experts for media interactions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts in the financial services sector (UK & EMEA focus preferred).
  • Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies and tactical plans, including press releases, media pitches, and thought leadership content.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations for internal and external audiences.
  • Track and analyse media coverage and generate insightful reports.
  • Act as a company spokesperson for specific media inquiries as needed.
  • Proactively manage and respond to potential media issues.

Internal Communications (25%)

  • Support the planning and execution of employee town hall events and other engagement activities.
  • Assist business leaders with developing internal communication materials, such as talking points and Q&A documents.
  • Contribute to the company intranet by writing and publishing engaging internal news stories.

Role Requirements

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in corporate communications, with a strong foundation in both internal and external communications.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful PR campaigns.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is a plus, but not required.
  • A proactive, results-oriented approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
