Job Description
The web manager is responsible for managing content on the Trust’s website, ensuring we reach and inspire our target audiences to increase discoverability and engagement, to drive support and action while taking the lead in steering content strategy.
Responsibilities
- You’ll play a crucial role in driving forward our content strategy and governance processes to align with business objectives while optimising for user needs.
- Serve as custodian of the website, overseeing content, maintenance, management and governance.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure delivery of only the most engaging and accessible content.
- Lead and manage a team and support them where necessary.
- Responsible for managing the Content Strategy Group with representatives from across the Trust to help shape the strategic direction of our website in line with our business goals and user needs.
- Responsible for managing the Editorial Board with representatives from across the Trust to share new content ideas and challenges across our delivery channels.
- Foster effective relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally, to communicate the importance of our content strategy and web standards.
- Build relationships and liaise with UX, Insight and Content team members to optimise our user journey / experience and set content performance goals.
- Create weekly and monthly reports for senior leaders and the rest of the organisation to highlight how audiences are engaging with our content.
- Manage, document and communicate best practice and procedures to champion consistency across our entire web estate.
Role Requirements
Essential:
- In fully understanding web technologies with a passion for all things digital
- In extracting meaningful insights from analytics data to generate actionable website performance reports for senior stakeholders, and recommend data-driven content improvements for team members
- Of SEO techniques and best practice, keyword research, content ranking strategies, and the ability to conduct regular technical SEO audits to identify and fix crawl, indexation, and performance issues
- In proactively promoting and championing SEO across the organisation, providing expert guidance and recommendations to the Content team and stakeholders
- In troubleshooting and resolving CMS-related issues with the IT team
- In managing Content Management Systems
- Of using SEO tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMrush) to monitor rankings and performance
- Leading and managing a small team to help them perform at their best, while offering support when needed
- Accessibility standards, trends and best practice – you will be the organisation’s go-to person for website accessibility, with the ability to interpret WCAG guidelines and make recommendations
- How to use Google Analytics 4, web governance, SEO tools and Google Search Console
