Mercy For Animals are currently seeking an independent contractor to advance our marketing and communications work in Asia.

Overview:

  • Salary: $2,000 – $2,500 per month, depending on experience
  • Contract duration: 12 months, 30-35 hours a week

Job Description

In this role, you will provide expert communications support for multiple projects by leveraging coordination, efficiency, initiative, attention to detail, and creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Create strategy and implementation plans for projects in association with the vice president
  • Draft content for internal and external audiences, such as website pages, blog posts, and press releases
  • Research new vendors and agencies around the world and cultivate solid relationships with contacts that Mercy For Animals can work with regularly and seamlessly
  • Research and contact experts needed for training and other projects
  • Assist in creating global processes and guidelines, along with implementation plans, that foster agility and impact in the organisation
  • Help identify gaps and training needs within the organisation and implement strategies to address them
  • Help set up processes for display and network ads, including metric measurement guidelines, GDPR guidelines, and data list building, and possibly run ads for global programs in the future
  • Create month-end emails for internal stakeholders
  • Proofread and edit training materials, survey reports, project evaluations, proceedings of major meetings or workshops, professional presentations, technical papers, brochures, and any other material for the global team’s programs
  • Create and manage a global media and communications calendar, ensuring priorities for all important campaigns (policy, corporate work, organizing, and core communications)
  • Work with the global team to create and update the global website, building content around key messaging priorities and ensuring brand consistency across pages
  • Ensure general adherence to our brand, as well as voice and tone guidelines, across regions
  • Manage email marketing to mobilise our existing supporter base and improve performance to grow our base and increase engagement
  • Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures per the contractor’s signed agreement
  • Perform any other duties assigned per the scope of the contractor’s signed agreement

Role Requirements

We are looking for a candidate that has:

  • Three or more years of experience in marketing or communications or equivalent combination of education and experience (experience in digital marketing, public relations, celebrity relations, or another closely related area considered)
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (Spanish, Hindi, Malay or Portuguese as a first or second language a major plus)
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts and adjust to a wide variety of working styles
  • Proven creativity and ability to develop compelling communications pieces to gain cut-through or tap into trends
  • Strong understanding of the farmed animal protection movement and key issues related to factory farming
  • Ability to travel, possibly internationally, as needed (about two to five trips per year for candidates living outside New Delhi and one to two trips per year for those living in New Delhi)
