Job Description
Madre Brava is looking to partner with a social media specialist to boost our reach and impact with elite audiences. We are a global climate organisation campaigning to achieve 100% sustainable, healthy, affordable food for all.
Madre Brava uses social media to strategically position our work and persuade our change-making target audience of the need to deliver a protein shift to more plants and less animals in the food system. We need to consistently produce compelling, attractive and impactful social content to achieve our objectives. The purpose of this role is to enhance the impact of our work and our organisation using social media.
The role is focused on channel management and content creation to provide regular high-quality posts that enhance the impact of our programmatic work, and evergreen content that keeps our audience engaged and reinforces our central messaging and narratives. Video editing skills are highly desirable.
The role, which is offered on a fixed-term consultancy basis, is also designed to help us continually assess the performance of our content, helping us improve its impact.
Responsibilities
As a Social Media Specialist at Madre Brava, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Help manage Madre Brava’s social media channels – including assisting in the launch of new ones.
- Lead the creation of social content for Madre Brava’s corporate channels.
- Deliver social media planning and coordination, ensuring scheduling maximises impact.
- Monitor the performance of our social channels, using data to adjust content to maximise impact.
- Produce a wide array of content (including producing short videos).
- Occasionally work with designers and video editors on bigger projects to advise on what content will work best for Madre Brava’s social channels.
- Help set up and run paid social campaigns.
- Keep up-to-date with fast-changing trends and technical developments in digital and social communications.
- Develop a manual with Dos and Don’ts and key Madre Brava corporate guidelines to help staff create good social media content on behalf of Madre Brava.
Role Requirements
Essential requirements
Proven experience of:
- Successfully creating a strategic social media plan and executing across channels, building audiences and reaching your target goals in engagement.
- Content creation and social media management for an organisation, in particular LinkedIn and TikTok.
- Photo, image and video editing.
- Managing paid social campaigns.
- Managing a social media communications calendar.
- Social media crisis management.
Desirable
- Working for a global organisation, delivering appropriately adjusted key messages through social channels in different markets (we work in Germany and Thailand and also communicate to audiences in the US and UK).
Language requirements
- Fluent English is essential.
- Knowledge of another of Madre Brava’s working languages (Thai, German, Spanish) would be a bonus
