Job Description

The Digital Communications Coach is responsible for coaching professionals (usually specialising in communications, marketing, and fundraising) who are taking part in the Lightful BRIDGE programme. The Digital Communications Coach is the point person for participants on digital fundraising, campaign planning, marketing and communications, working across multiple cohorts to deliver 1-1 or group sessions to support nonprofit digital fundraising capacity building. They lead on ongoing curriculum development, specifically creating new learning content to meet the needs of participants. They work with colleagues across departments (Partnerships, Design and Engineering) to develop resources and platform features to meet participants’ needs.

Responsibilities

As a Lightful Digital Communications Coach, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Research, create and deliver digital fundraising, communications and campaigning learning content, ensuring it is innovative, relevant and leads to demonstrable outcomes for participants
  • Conduct 1-1 coaching sessions with participants. Since we support charities globally, you will occasionally need to adjust your schedule to accommodate calls in different time zones, sometimes starting earlier or finishing later than usual
  • Develop and manage strong relationships with BRIDGE participants
  • Deliver webinars for external audiences such as potential partners/funders, representing Lightful
  • Act as cohort lead for live programmes which includes:
    • Lead on programme contextualisation
    • Lead on programme communications and engagement tracking
    • Monitor programme performance against team targets
    • Support the Partnerships and wider programme team with reporting
  • Support the Partnerships team by analysing cohort insights based on 1-1 coaching sessions
  • Support the Design and Engineering teams with product development, including new AI tools for participants
  • Support the wider Programme team with external communications such as blogs and social media

Role Requirements

We’ve love to hear from you if you tick off a good number of the following:

  • Minimum three years’ digital campaigning or fundraising experience in the charity sector
    • Experience in running online campaigns that achieved measurable results, whether in advocacy or fundraising
  • A genuine passion for the charity and B corp sectors
  • Understanding of key online communication methods, like digital marketing strategies, SEO and effective use of social media platforms
  • Experience in delivering training sessions online. Be prepared to discuss instances where you have trained individuals and groups
  • Experience in creating powerful presentations using Google Slides, Powerpoint or Keynote to a range of audiences
  • Previous experience of writing clear and engaging learning content
  • Genuine love of talking to people and helping them solve problems
  • Flexibility – adept at managing conflicting deadlines, tasks, and priorities efficiently

Having experience of a few of the below would be beneficial:

  • Experience working with organisations focussed on gender justice, climate justice or disaster response
  • Experience in an account, relationship management or customer success position
  • Experience using and managing a LMS (Learning Management System) or creating e-learning content in the SCORM format (we use Articulate Rise 360)
  • Fundraising consultant or digital agency experience
  • Experience of peer support with other charities on social media (e.g. answering questions on Fundraising Chat Facebook group)
  • Proficiency in French and/or Spanish is advantageous, though not required. We occasionally run programs in these languages, so having someone with these language skills would be beneficial.

  • Ability to connect with culturally and geographically diverse learners

  • Ability to communicate clearly with people from across the company
