Job Description
Transform global philanthropy and make a significant impact by joining Giving What We Can (GWWC) as a Community Engagement Coordinator. In this role, you’ll lead proven initiatives that encourage people to commit to effective giving through our pledge programme.
Responsibilities
As a Community Engagement Coordinator at Giving What We Can, you will be responsible for the following:
 EA Conference Engagement (Primary)
- Lead GWWC’s presence at 10+Â Effective Altruism Global Conferences (EAG(x)s)Â annually
- Manage and optimise Pledge Booth operations
- Build on our 2024 metrics:
- 203 new pledges (86 10% Pledges, 117 Trial Pledges)
- Estimated $10M+ lifetime donations generated
- Set and achieve quarterly pledge targets
- Develop and implement engagement strategies for conference attendees
Pledge Advocacy Programme Management (Secondary)
- Run four cohorts of our Pledge Advocacy Programme annually
- Each cohort: 20 participants, 8-week duration
- Build upon 2024 results: 45 new pledges (15 10% Pledges, 30 Trial Pledges)
- Create and deliver training materials
- Mentor advocates and track program effectiveness
Additional Community Engagement Activities (Tertiary)
- Other related activities and initiatives to support the EA and other segments of our community as required
Role Requirements

Required Qualities
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Energised by frequent in-person and online interactions
- Strong understanding of effective altruism and/or effective giving
- Excellent written and spoken English communication
- Demonstrated project management capabilities
- Ability to travel internationally regularly
- Independent and self-motivated work style
- Alignment with GWWC’s mission, team values and community values
Preferred Qualities
- Experience as a 10% Pledger
- Background in philanthropy, fundraising, or strategic marketing
- Data analysis and reporting skills
- Additional languages a plus
