Condor Initiative is looking for an experienced person to join their team as an Operations Manager.

Overview:

  • Part-time position for at least first few months
  • Language: fluency in both English and Spanish is requested for this role
  • Location: Remote (Anywhere)
  • Salary: $2,400 per month
  • Start date: as soon as possible

Job Description

The Operations Manager will play a crucial role in planning and executing our programs and initiatives. They will also set up our processes and policies so the Condor Initiative can become a more sustainable organisation as we aim to achieve our mission of connecting talent to impact.

Responsibilities

Strategy Support:

  • Support strategy conversations with directors on the org’s goals and programs on operational standpoint.
  • Implementing and maintaining the systems and processes for managing, evaluating, monitoring, and internally reporting the process of achieving strategic goals.

Process Design and Implementation:

  • Design and implement organisational strategies, plans, and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and review systems and policies for ops for operations and compliance.

Program and Logistics Management:

  • Work with directors to plan logistics of org programs & workshops (Including scheduling, venue booking, and coordination with speakers and mentors).
  • Manage the coordination aspects of programs, workshops and events as they happen.
  • Provide logistical support to students, mentors, and facilitators during workshops.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Manage ad hoc external correspondences with students, mentors, speakers, and other stakeholders.

Compliance Management:

  • Ensure the organisation adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements.

Fundraising Support:

  • Support Director on fundraising activities.

Administrative Support:

  • Support CFO by ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Oversee day-to-day administrative functions (e.g. social media, database updates, transactions, record-keeping, compliance tasks, etc.).

Role Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate that:

  • Strives to do the most good in all aspects of your work,
  • Has a high desire to influence the strategic direction of an AI safety field building initiative,
  • Has an entrepreneurial mindset to support the founders but are also highly conscientious to drive organised efforts and keep the team on point,
  • Enjoys workflow optimisation, process improvement, policy building, & system implementation,
  • Is energised by work related to community engagement, capacity building, and seeing young people find clarity in their journey to do a lot of good in the world,
  • Has more than 2 years of work experience outside of EA orgs but also have at least 1 year of experience working within EA orgs (or adjacent orgs),
  • Has a working knowledge of navigating US nonprofit regulations and compliance,
  • Is able to speak and write Spanish and English fluently.

  5. A custom half to whole day work trial (depending on Condor Initiative’s active projects at that time)
